Nicole Kolitsas
Oh hi, I didn’t see you there! I’m Nicole, and I’m a performer and writer based in Brooklyn, NY. Ever since I was young, I was always putting on a show; whether it was my cabarets for the moms at school pickup, or practicing my tight ten standup routine at the dinner table, I was always eager to entertain. Sooner or later, my incessant performances of Miss Hannigan’s “Little Girls” turned into singing “It’s A Hard-Knock Life” at a real theatre! I made my debut as Tessie in ANNIE and haven’t stopped performing since. Throughout my adolescence, I had wonderful theatre educators who imparted not only their knowledge, but their love of the craft. I am a recent graduate of Molloy University’s CAP21 Musical Theatre Conservatory in NYC. Throughout my training, I have grown as a performer, as well as a person. As a writer, I am passionate about making people laugh AND think! I love writing quippy dialogue and complex female characters as well as poetry because I am both funny and deep! Outside of performing and writing, you can find me crafting, watching sitcoms, lipsyncing for my life in my living room to the Ethel Merman Disco Album, and participating in hijinks with my crazy crew of friends!

WHAT’S IT ABOUT?
My debut short play, WHAT’S IT ABOUT? will premiere at the New York Theatre Festival on February 5th @9pm, 7th @12pm, and 8th @8:30pm. What’s it about, you ask? Two friends and roommates. And a boyfriend. But it’s not really about him. It’s about secrets and lies and relationships and friendships and betrayal and pink wine. And it’s a comedy! I am thrilled to have my first piece presented by this amazing festival, and to work with an incredible team of emerging young artists.
